Nortel – whether you know it by that name, or as Nortel Networks, Northern Telecom, or even Northern Electric – will always be regarded as an important element in the evolution of modern telecommunications, as its products and technology continue to play a part in our everyday lives.
Over the course of 14 years we completed a lot of projects for Nortel, but the main reason that it’s part of this portfolio is the sheer breadth of work entrusted to us. It started with – of all things – a doodle pad. You know, those huge swaths of paper that were once the mainstay of managers’ desks with big printed squares for every day of the week. Our approach to this and virtually every other task the company would send our way was to up-end convention and make it into something new. Thus we came to know the world of dense wave division multiplexing, Gigabit Ethernet and more acronyms than you can shake a photon at. Our domain included everything from product and service brochures to newsletters, naming, tradeshow signage, sales packages, promotional giveaways, and the interior environment of a manufacturing facility. With an international company on this scale, our mandate involved regularly working with clients in Canada, the U.S., and sometimes beyond.
